Deer Blinds

Using deer blinds for hunting can make the hunt much more pleasant and even more successful. On this page I’ll provide you with some tips on using deer hunting blinds so that you can make the best use of them.

Firstly, choose the right blind for the right hunt. You’ll want to make sure that your hunting blind is in designed with a pattern that best fits your particular area. For instance, you wouldn’t want to use wetland camouflage in the woods to hunt for deer.

Next, make sure you choose a blind that is of an appropriate size. Deer blinds should have enough room in them for all hunters to be comfortable in their hunting positions. It would be a shame to miss a kill simply because you bumped elbows with your hunting partner.

Choose an appropriate spot to place your deer hunting blinds. Although these blinds are easy to put up and to take down, it is good to try and pick a good spot right from the start. Remember to setup downwind so that you can avoid being detected by the deer’s superior sense of smell. Some scent blocking deer blinds can help with this, but that doesn’t mean you can setup up wind of your prey.

Permanent Deer Blinds

If you choose to build permanent deer blinds, you should always make sure to put them up well in advance of deer hunting season. This will give the deer a chance to get used to the blind and over time they will not take any notice of it. You’ll be able to sit in it and simply wait for the deer to come to you.

Use materials that will help keep you warm and comfortable while you are hunting. If the blind is to be permanent, it makes sense to add things to it that will keep the warmth in and the wind out. Just make sure you don’t add anything that draws negative attention to the blind. Its great to be warm, but its even better to be warm with a nice trophy deer in your hands.

Always remember that deer hunting blinds are only meant to assist you in your hunting. They will not help you shoot straighter or find deer that just aren’t there. Make sure you setup in an area that is likely to produce deer and make sure you are ready when you see them. It might not be a bad idea to set up temporary deer blinds in the place you want to build your permanent blind so that you can test it out first.
